MeAndMyDrum - A Permanent Fixture in My Feed Reader

meandmydrum.pngI read a lot of great blogging and technology blogs, but MeAndMyDrum is one of my favorites. Authored by Mark Sierra, the blog features blogging tips and software reviews, as well as information on current events and whatever other topics happen to catch Mark’s attention.

Though Mark may not consider himself a professional blogger, his work is some of the most professional I’ve seen. In addition to MeAndMyDrum, he authors two other blogs - Darn Good Reviews and Family WebWatch. He also contributes to Blog About Your Blog, BlogsWeLuv, and Digital Journal. Yes, he’s a blogging machine! And whether he’s blogging about the latest technology or how to stop stuffing your pie hole, each post is well thought out, exceptionally well written, and a joy to read.

MeAndMyDrum was launched in February 2007. It recently broke into the Technorati Top 10K, currently boasting a rank of 8,420. There are nearly 200 RSS subscribers.

Perhaps the best way to introduce you to MeAndMyDrum is to highlight a few posts that I enjoyed.

How to Find Hot Spots on Your Blog - A review of Crazy Egg, a free product that uses heat maps to display where your readers are looking and clicking on your blog. This information can be used to determine ad placement, thereby increasing your online income.

2 Tips for Eliminating Blogger’s Block - Reviews of Google Notebook and Diigo, two of the tools Mark uses when generating ideas for upcoming posts.

    MAMD has been one of my favorite hangouts and source of inspiration ever since I started blogging. Mark is just absolutely a wonderful person and one of the few people I turn to if I had questions. He was even so nice to create a header for SpicyTasty.com without even expecting anything in return when he noticed it lacked one in our first theme!

    Oh yead, I have no idea how he manages to run all these blogs and guest blog at so many places. I am sure he’s figured out human cloning. LOL :evil:

    My advice is to avoid this nut case AT ALL COSTS! But of course, only on Opposite Day. And even then you might want to give his blog a visit. :P

    Thanks so much for that response, K. That’s really cool of you to say. (hey, that rhymed and I wasn’t even trying.)

    And as for Aaron, what can I say that hasn’t already been said behind your back. I, for one (and it probably is really only one), love your blog because I find it so educational…in knowing how NOT to run a blog. With each post I smile saying to myself, “This guy just doesn’t get it.” Thanks, flame-haired boy, you’re an inspiration…on Opposite Day. LOL

    K - Mark is indeed a great person! As for the human cloning, I need to speak with him about that. If he has managed to figure that out as well, I could use some help! :)
